You can’t get anywhere in the kingdom of God without faith.
Lack of faith puts us at odds with God and His Word.
Without faith it is impossible to please God.
Impossible.
Read it for yourself.
But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
Hebrews 11:6
Thankfully He tells us what we need to believe, for you see, faith is believing.
We must believe that God exists and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
This is the beginning of faith that saves, faith that redeems, faith that heals, faith that brings us into God’s kingdom.
To diligently seek God is to go after Him with all our heart, mind, will and being. Seek God and you will find Him.
He is not a million miles away. He is on your lips and near to your heart (Rom 10:8).
But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Romans 10:8-10
Salvation is a matter of the heart. He is telling us that faith is of the heart. Not the mind. Not the senses. It is of the heart, the inner man or woman. We believe with our heart.
He tells us that we must confess Jesus as Lord. Acknowledge with our words that Jesus is Lord and make Him the Lord of our life, will and actions.
So begins a life of faith and service with God, the greatest life possible.
Notice that we are to believe in the resurrection of Jesus. We are to confess that Jesus was raised from the dead.
In this we are acknowledging the crucifixion of Christ and that He died for us so that He could take away our sins, and our guilt-consciousness, and bring us into right standing with God.
In right standing we are granted access to the very throne room of God to stand in His presence.
Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Hebrews 4:16
So we can go from impossibility to the very presence of God through faith in Him: that He exists and that He is a Rewarder.
Today is the day of salvation, and the door is open for believers.
