Come again?

When Jesus comes will we all be ready?
Start

Jesus is coming. One day we will all see Him as He is. One day not too far away.

Are you ready? Oh, what a day that will be, especially for those who know Him today.

We will say, I’m sure, something like, “Thank goodness!”, or “Thank God!”, when we see Him. Maybe we’ll have tears in our eyes, and our hearts will leap for joy.

I’m sure I will give a sigh of relief and say, “Phew!” We will be so glad we have made it to the end of this era to begin the next in our eternal journey with Him.

Those who don’t know Him will still see Him but I suspect their reaction may be different. Trepidation, perhaps. Fear. Concern, for they will not have received Him as Lord and Saviour, and it will be, sadly, too late when He comes again, for judgement will be nigh and all will face the judgement of God for their time on earth.

Today!

Now is the time to accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour if we want to experience both the relief and the joy of seeing Him when He comes. There is no time to delay, really, because many of the signs of His coming are in place, and it seems likely, though we don’t know the exact moment, that it will be very soon.

All who truly follow Him live with the expectation of His imminent coming. This has been the case since the beginning of the Church age, when the saints would greet one another with the Aramaic word “Maranatha”, which means, “even so, come, Lord Jesus!”

They were expectant, hopeful, in the fullest sense of the word, and desirous of seeing Him face to face.

And we who believe will all greet Him with wonder and joy as we rise to meet Him in the air.

Be ready. That day will come. It is your day, my day, everyone’s day as much as it is His day when He arrives. And we will know who we are when we see Him as He is.

Maranatha!
