The new creation

There’s an amazing scripture that speaks of how those who are newly born again are changed at the moment of being saved. In this post we will explore this and see what this means for the believer.

When we receive Jesus as Lord and Saviour several amazing things take place in our lives that are best spiritually understood. They are radical adjustments to who we are. In fact, we are called new creatures in Christ.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

2 Corinthians 5:17

We are not who we used to be. We may look similar, and for a time we will almost act in a familiar way, albeit with a new consciousness of having been changed on the inside that will eventually be reflected by the outward person as well as the inner man.

We have literally put on Christ. We have been throughly transformed in a way that can only ever testify of God’s greatness and mercy, and the generous love with which He applies the masterclass of sophisticated regeneration of a once lost soul and dead spirit, into an eternal being with reborn qualities.

Overcomers

There is more to this restorative action than we will ever really know. We have been brought into God’s own family as His children. If we could only grasp the immense significance of this amazing fact nothing would never be able to wipe the smile off our faces. The joy would be constantly extreme and uncontainable.

We have been redeemed–completely forgiven for everything we ever did before the day we yielded to God’s love and accepted His free offer of salvation. We are sanctified, made clean from all unrighteousness. Our sin has been cast as far as the east is from the west.

We are justified–made guilt-free and unashamed in His presence and in His sight. We are glorified–filled with His Spirit, and given incredible fruit and gifts that are representative of His care and grace towards the unsaved; those we are sent to bring into His family, just as we have been grafted in as members of the Body of Christ.

Even more amazing, we have become victorious in Him. A reevaluation of our worth took place on the day we accepted Jesus. We effectively received the laurel leaves of victory that were, in Paul’s day, reserved for those who overcame all and were declared champions in the Greek games, only we are declared triumphant by association with Jesus Christ, who was victorious over the power of sin, death and the grave, and over all the power of the enemies of God through His death, burial and resurrection, the triumph over all that stood between us and a true relationship with Almighty God our Saviour.

We will face challenges as believers, simply because of our faith, but He will give us a way of escape from everything that attempts to stand between us and His love.

Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 8:37-39

His victory over sin, death and the grave was our victory. We need no longer fear these things. We can overcome them. Yes, this outer shell–our earthly body–has a finite time and will one day pass away, the last part of us that will be redeemed, but the inner person, the regeneration man or woman of God, will live forever with Him.

How to become new

If you are not yet saved, and you are reading this message, you are standing, right now, at the threshold of becoming a new creature in Christ, of attaining to the same victory He won over sin, death and the grave.

You can have a breakthrough today that will cause you to enter into this new life with all its benefits and advantages. You will come into what scripture calls a Royal Priesthood. All believers become kings and priests in the Household of God, equipped and empowered to reign in life through one Christ Jesus.

Those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.

Romans 5:17b

Reigning means that, although we’ll have the same challenges everyone has, we will be empowered through Christ to overcome them, and triumph with Him over those things that held us back from a relationship with God before we were saved.

For this reason, I’ve prepared a special eBook that is completely free, which will explain exactly how to be born again, and how to enter into this new life with God. It only takes a few minutes to read through it, and it it will help you see who you are now and who you could be directly after going through this booklet.
